
Joel joined Longview in 2011. As a Client Partner in the firm's Toronto office, he has led client engagements on matters such as proxy contests and hostile take-over bids. Joel has worked with clients spanning a number of industries and geographies including one of Canada's largest public pension funds, a chartered bank, a sovereign wealth fund, an oil company, a number of mining companies and a technology company.
Prior to joining Longview, Joel led the communications department of a leading shareholder services firm and assisted clients on a number of high profile proxy fight and M&A engagements. Before that, at the financial communications firm Lute & Company, Joel worked with a variety of public companies in a strategic communications capacity that also included numerous proxy fight and M&A engagements. Earlier in his career, Joel worked as a Communications Manager at a Canadian bank, where he led a number of change management initiatives, and was a Public Relations Manager at a marketing firm.
Joel holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business (York University), an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law and Sociology from York University, and a Public Relations Certificate from Humber College.
