David joined Longview in August 2004 and now heads up the firm's office in Toronto. He brings over 10 years of broad public relations experience to the client relationships he manages at the firm. David has deep expertise in M&A and financial communications, reputation management, litigation support and crisis communications. With Longview, he has advised clients in the oil and gas, financial services, telecom, sports and entertainment, mining, and forest products industries, among others.
Prior to joining the firm, David provided strategic communications counsel to companies such as Starbucks Coffee Company, Teekay Shipping, Aliant Telecom, ExxonMobil and Irving Oil and served on the standing crisis response team for the Sable Offshore Energy Project.
David began his career as a general reporter and producer in radio and television news. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia, a Communications Diploma (Broadcast Journalism) from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where he received the Legislative Press Gallery Award for Excellence in Journalism, and has completed the Canadian Securities Course with honours.
David currently serves on the national issues management committee of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI).
