Longview is seeking to hire a senior professional at the Client Partner level for the firm's office in Toronto.

This new professional will join Longview's total staff of ten. This individual will play an important role in the development and execution of communications programs for a diverse corporate client base. He/she will bring superior knowledge of business, exceptional writing and client service skills, strong relationships with media, a sharp intellect, experience in the field of communications, a commitment to excellence and an ability to work well with others.

In return, this individual will have an opportunity to work on some of the most challenging and high profile corporate communications situations in Canada and become part of a growing team of established communications professionals.

The Company

Longview Communications is an independent public relations firm specializing in corporate and financial communications, with market leading expertise in mergers and acquisitions, proxy contests, insolvency proceedings and restructurings. Founded in 2003, Longview serves a diverse range of clients across Canada and around the world from its offices in Vancouver and Toronto.

Principal responsibilities of all professionals at Longview include:

• Corporate and financial communications
• Mergers and acquisitions, proxy contests, shareholder activism, bankruptcies and restructurings
• Media and stakeholder relations

Longview does not publish its client list, but its clients include a number of Canada's largest and most respected companies.

Principal Responsibilities

Longview supports its clients in small teams that draw upon the firm's full resources and experience, as needed. All professionals are generalists by industry and practice area, though each person will bring their own strengths and interests to the table.

Client Partners are senior professionals and have responsibility for leading client engagements. Principal responsibilities of a Client Partner at Longview include:

• Managing, supporting and leading client relationships
• Developing and implementing communications plans and strategies
• Writing client materials, including press releases, speeches, stakeholder letters, website copy, investor presentations, research papers, talking points, Q&As, etc.
• Media relations, including developing and maintaining relationships with key journalists and acting as spokesperson on behalf of clients as warranted
• Contributing to a collaborative, productive and enjoyable work environment

Experience

A minimum of ten years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, investor relations, stakeholder engagement, crisis management or business journalism.

• Superior written and verbal communications skills
• An 'intellectual athlete' who can think through problems clearly, and who is able to deliver first-rate work product in a timely and professional manner
• A true professional with a strong commitment to providing sound client advice and excellent execution
• Superior knowledge of business, ideally with some exposure to special situations, such as mergers, hostile takeovers and proxy contests, and/or issues, such as executive compensation, corporate governance, shareholder democracy, etc.
• Ability to assume project leadership roles
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; can balance a range of projects concurrently; highly effective at time management and setting priorities
• Thoughtful, confident and mature individual with excellent interpersonal skills and an open style
• Strong client service ethos and an ability to earn the confidence of others
• A team player who is also able to work independently
• Ambitious, with a desire to work in a busy, fast paced and highly motivated working environment
